Playing with SketchBook Copic edition
Sometimes it’s fun to play with new toys and media. I’ve some some imitation gold and silver leaf I want to try (that could be a disaster!) and I recently installed a product called SketchBook Copic Edition. I have about 3 copic markers, they’re kind of fun but wow do they smell! They’re at work where I occasionally sketch on a lunch break, but they’re a little too whiffy for an open plan office… like really strong deodorant or curry for lunch. Does not make you popular with the masses :)
Anyway, so I tried this tool after a fellow artist mentioned it over at Facebook. It’s an interesting tool, probably great for quick sketches and lovely light pieces, but I missed my Photoshop editting tools and the more opaque brushes. I could probably figure them out given more time. Maybe I’ll try another sketch on another day. I was going to do some more watercolour painting, but the rain clouds have moved in and the natural light is fading.
