Garkun – forest boy

Garkun is the fifth painting in a series of character portraits (Includes Vik, Anahit, Lada & Zabava). He’s a forest boy, having seen many horrors of war, he’s taken to scavenging the forest and battlefields, always followed by a shadowy forest spirit). A bit of an experimental piece, sketched during a lunch break, and painted with a lot of wet into wet. She started out titled ‘petal’ and became Persephone, goddess of spring and flowers. ACEO/ ATC Freya original painting

This is an ACEO painting of the Goddess Freya (also spelled Freyja). She was a Norse goddess of love and fertility, was often cloaked in a cape of feathers and wore a golden necklace. Her rune Fehu or Fortune is painted in the corner in gold gouache paint.
